As an organization, Status seeks to push the web3 ecosystem forward through research, creation of developer tools, and support of the open source community.
As a product, Status is an open source, Ethereum-based app that gives users the power to chat, transact, and access a revolutionary world of Apps on the decentralized web. But Status is also building foundational infrastructure for the whole Ethereum ecosystem, including the Nimbus ETH 1.0 and 2.0 clients, the Keycard hardware wallet, and the Waku messaging protocol, the p2p communication layer for Web3.
As a team, Status has been completely distributed since inception. Our team is currently 200+ core contributors strong, and welcomes a growing number of community members from all walks of life, scattered all around the globe.
We care deeply about open source, and our organizational structure has minimal hierarchy and no fixed work hours. We believe in working with a high degree of autonomy while supporting the organization's priorities.
About the Infrastructure Team
We’re a team scattered across the world, working to provide various tools and services for the projects in the company. We work asynchronously, with a high level of independence.
We are seeking a Data Engineer to construct and maintain dynamic dashboards for our Open Source projects. The successful candidate will collect, analyze, and interpret data to provide actionable insights, enabling us to effectively track and improve our project progress.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement data pipelines for Open Source Project development, communication campaigns, and finance overview
- Build visualization tools to track and analyze project progress, communication effectiveness, and financial health
- Accompany teams lead to identify key elements for KPI analysis
- Manage Data Warehouse to maintain data quality
Requirements
You ideally will have
- Experience with Data Pipeline implementation (DBT, Airflow, Airbyte)
- Experience with SQL optimization
- Experience with Python or other scripting languages
- Experience with Grafana or other visualization tools
- Experience in, and passion for, blockchain technology

Bonus points if
- Comfortable working remotely and asynchronously
- Experience working for an open source organization.
- Experience with Linux, Docker
- Experience with LLM fine-tuning

Compensation
The compensation range for this role is dependent on how we assess your skills and experience throughout our interview process. We are happy to pay in any mix of fiat/crypto.
