About The Role

Invisible’s Agent workforce is a globally distributed team of human agents that perform knowledge work for our clients. This workforce is slated to grow 2x - 3x in the next 12 months, and the work that this team does is the leading revenue generator for Invisible.

As an Engineering Manager on the Marketplace team, you will manage a rapidly growing team of Software Engineers and collaborate closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, and Business Operations to build software products and services to support the Agent workforce, and help them scale. You will be responsible for product planning and delivery, visioning, product architecture, team management, and software quality.

Responsibilities

  • Be both highly technical and an effective people manager
  • Lead teams that deliver on multiple projects of increasing dependencies in an ambiguous or high-impact area
  • Work with your team and cross functional partners to define and influence strategy
  • Define metrics and ensure the operational efficiency of the team
  • Lead and mentor a team of skilled Software Engineers while fostering a collaborative environment with Product Managers and Designers
  • Drive the team's delivery of high-quality, impactful software solutions
  • Take charge of the team's overall performance, ensuring strategic project goals are met with technical excellence
  • Manage the goals and development plans of individual team members to ensure that they’re learning and growing
  • Recruit, interview, and hire exceptional talent for the team

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering work experience, including 3+ years of hands-on technical management building holistic web-based software solutions, API design and client-server systems
  • Significant experience developing applications in team environments
  • Ability to research and synthesize new technologies (frameworks, libraries, techniques) and explain and evangelize them to more junior engineers
  • One or more of the following experiences:some text
    • Experience using React for front-end development (we use React, Next.js and Prisma)
    • Backend language experience including Node, Python (Flask/Django/etc.)
    • Strong understanding of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)

With over 65% ownership already in the hands of our partners, we are committed to achieving 100% partner ownership. Moreover, our leadership team is legally obligated to buy back partner shares according to a formal liquidity plan. This ensures a clear path for those who choose to sell their stake in the company.

Compensation:

  • Base: $160,000
  • Base + Bonus Target: $215,000
  • This role is eligible to participate in Invisible’s equity plan.

The amount listed above is the expected annual base salary for this role, subject to change.
