Use your expertise in reviewing and adapting course content in our Italian course to help improve how millions of people learn languages on Duolingo!

Duolingo is looking for a skilled and experienced content adapter and expert in the Italian language who has full professional proficiency in Italian, strong working proficiency in English, and experience writing and/or translating content for language learning materials.

This is a temporary freelance position (no benefits included). All work will be conducted remotely and hours are flexible.

• Help adapt Italian language learning materials to meet the needs of second language learners.
• Review Italian teaching materials for spelling, grammar, style, consistency, and natural language use.
• Use your Italian teaching/translation expertise and strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality course content for learners of Italian.

• Full professional proficiency in Italian
• Strong working proficiency in English
• B.A. in Italian, translation, linguistics, or other relevant field
• Experience reviewing, translating, and/or writing content for Italian language learning materials/curricula
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Basic computer skills (Google docs, spreadsheets)
• Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work at least 20 hours a week

Exceptional Candidates Will Have...

• Experience teaching Italian as a second language or creating language learning materials/curricula
• Familiarity with the Common European Framework of Reference for Language (CEFR)
• Previous experience eliciting high-quality AI-generated (pedagogical) content
• Creative writing skills
