Operations Manager

As the Operations Manager at VALR, your role extends beyond traditional operational oversight. You will lead and manage day-to-day operations, project management, team health initiatives, and product operations to ensure VALR’s smooth functioning and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • VALR is a product company, and many of our existing products require operational assistance. This role requires the following in relation to existing products:
    • Identify any necessary interventions for specific products;
    • Ensure that our products work smoothly by addressing any required interventions;
    • Work with other teams to reduce any manual interventions as far as possible;
    • Put in place appropriate monitoring to first have a good understanding of the health of our products and second to be aware of and address any risks that may become apparent;
    • Investigate whether our supporting documentation is well presented and understandable to our customers.
  • VALR is currently building a range of new products which require operationalisation. This role requires the following of you in relation to new products:
    • Work with our product team to understand where any interventions - manual or otherwise - will be required for our new products;
    • Assist with taking our products to market effectively.
  • VALR has many special projects that require dedicated attention. This role requires the following in relation to special projects:
    • Lead and manage day-to-day operations of specific projects within the operations team;
    • Ensure adherence to project timelines and goals, and enhance performance and scalability;
    • Develop detailed project plans, set milestones, and ensure program integrity throughout project execution.
  • Identify areas within VALR's business where operational excellence is not being achieved and develop a strong understanding of what operational problems VALR faces.
  • Standardise tools for project management, including SOP templates and process maps, to achieve repeatable success and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Conduct research and propose innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in customer service support operations.
  • Support the general well-being of our team through team events and office administration, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operations, mitigate risks, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, stay abreast of industry regulations, and implement necessary changes.
  • Design solutions for process improvements and tool development, focusing on long-term sustainability and scalability.
  • Analyse and evaluate emerging challenges and opportunities, aiming for further optimisation of product operations.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues promptly to minimise disruptions to trading activities and uphold high standards of service.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in project management and operations within the financial or crypto industry.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage projects and client service teams.
  • Experience in developing and implementing process improvements and tools for operational efficiency.
  • Ability to analyse data and evaluate emerging trends to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • A passion for fostering a positive team culture and supporting the well-being of team members.
