Job Overview
We are seeking a talented, self-directed Product Marketing Manager to join our Passport team to drive the development and adoption of Gitcoin Passport. As the the marketing lead for Gitcoin Passport, you will work closely with product and engineering teams to set product positioning and strategy, define and direct our developer go-to-market, drive product launches and shape the perception of Passport as not only the world’s most trusted identity verification app, but also a powerful platform for reputation management.
You will lead the execution of our go to market (GTM) with counterparts across product, design, growth, developer relations and support teams. Execution will span owned, earned and community channels, paid and performance media, events, and technical skilling. But dont worry, you will have lots of support and becoem part of a power Gitcoin network of contributors.
Responsibilities
Product positioning and strategy:
- Define the GTM strategy for Passport in conjunction with Passport product leadership based on a deep understanding of developer needs, market and user research and trends, competitive landscape, and Gitcoin’s business goals and strategy
- Define and communicate the value proposition of our developer offering (Developer API)
- Provide feedback on product roadmap based on customer, market, and competitive insights
Go-to-market strategy
- Map out core personas and journeys, developing messaging and positioning, use cases, competitive intelligence, and launch strategy
- Support pricing and packaging decisions for new products
Product announcements and launch:
- Own release marketing end to end — define streamlined release marketing process, leading strategic planning and execution of product launches and/or product-focused events in a way that maximizes market impact and adoption, and analyzing launch performance to identify opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate closely with the product team to deeply understand new features and updates, translating technical details into clear and compelling marketing messages
- Lead the execution of priority GTM campaigns, scaling impact through supporting teams across the organization
Full-funnel execution
- Partner with sales and BD to design and measure full-funnel marketing initiatives as the subject matter expert for Passport, from awareness and acquisition to retention and community advocacy
Requirements
- 5+ years in technical product marketing roles with 2-3 years of experience in Web3 with a deep understanding of the motivations and needs of technical audiences
- Proven experience in a mid-to-senior-level product marketing role, with a track record of success developing and executing go-to-market strategies and product launches
- Relevant experience driving adoption and engagement for APIs and/or SDKs is a plus
- A familiarity of the reputation + identity verification ecosystem and its core technical audiences
- Comfort getting hands on with data. Ideal candidates can interpret product and market signals, make data-driven decisions to optimize our marketing strategies over time
- Experience crafting compelling positioning, messaging and developer content
- Prior experience driving company or business unit wide marketing strategies in partnership with cross-functional partners like engineering, product, marketing and developer relations
- Excellent communication skills and an inherently collaborative nature
- Ability to effectively build cross-functional relationships and motivate diverse teams and functions to produce high-quality outcomes
- Ability to aggressively prioritize the few things that have the biggest impact
- Willingness to travel, attend speaking engagement and represent Passport publicly

Compensation
The salary range for US-based candidates only will be determined throughout the interview process depending on experience and skills. Candidates should anticipate a base salary (not including bonus, equity or other benefits) of $USD120,000 - 170,000.
